Technology nowadays has imposed itself into the classroom.
Imposed:
- force (something unwelcome or unfamiliar) to be accepted or put in place. -Oxford
- take advantage of someone by demanding their attention or commitment.
“Imposed” was used in my sentence appropriately. The first definition is the one intended for my sentence. Technology has basically forced its way into education.
I didn’t consider the second definition of “impose,” and it even took me a second to realize what the second definition meant. It could mean “over staying your welcome.”
Impose synonyms:
- Establish
- force
- lay
- Burden
- decree
